Mount Moosilauke

July 11, 2004

Mount Moosilauke (4,802 feet) is the most westerly of the 4,000 footers. We hiked the Gorge Brook trail which starts at the Ravine Lodge off of Rt. 112. It was 7.4 miles round trip, with 2,450 feet of elevation gain. It took us 6 hours and 30 minutes.

Ready, set, go! A short break in the brook. The brook narrows and gets mossy.
The kids take the lead
going up the east shoulder.
And get farther ahead
going accross the east shoulder.
And still farther ahead
through the apline meadow.
Almost there... And Abby is the winner! The kids waiting for the adults.
Northeast
Straight out is Mt. Washington.
Southeast
The way we came up.
South
Southwest West The whole gang.
(Except for me!)
The Husseys! The Cooks! A good foot soaking
on the way down.
